Main Project features
To conduct grid impact studies for ELIDZ for the deployment of a 15 MWp / 12 (MWac) distributed solar PV system. CSIR previously conducted a solar PV system feasibility for deployment at the industrial zone. These grid impact studies were therefore a follow-on to assess the implications of implementing the PV system on the existing ELIDZ electrical network.
Position held: Engineering Consultancy
Activities performed:
- Model the ELIDZ network on DIgSILENT PowerFactory
- Test and verify the model(s) to be used in the grid impact studies
- Conduct grid integration and impact analysis (load flow and minigrid system dynamic simulations)
- Assess costs for different plant and layout configurations to justify infrastructural investments for the reticulation network.
