Main Project features
Undertake GCCA studies to determine the maximum connection capacity at various possible connection points in the vicinity of the plant. Quantify the amount of power that can be allowed from the plant to keep the Transmission / Distribution grids within their operational limits.
Position held: Engineering Consultancy
Activities performed:
- Review of the South African Grid Code
- Review of the Eskom Transmission Development Plan (TDP)
- Analysis of Maintenance data and failure rates on the Eskom network
- Ensure compliance with SA Grid Code requirements for power evacuation
- Develop a steady-state equivalent model of the transmission network
- Undertake grid studies /load flow to quantify the maximum generation capacity at a particular point of integration.
