Conduct power evacuation studies to determine the maximum generation connection capacity that can be integrated into the Eskom network from the Potchefstroom Cluster Farms Development area in the Northwest province.

Position held: Engineering Consultancy

Activities performed:

• Evaluation of possible connection points in the vicinity of the envisaged plant
• Assessment of the network in the vicinity of the envisaged plant (previous GCCA report, TDP and Grid Code etc).
• Undertake GCCA studies and determine the best point of connection (POC) for the plant.
• Implications for connection costs and deep grid strengthening of these options.
• Submit a full GCCA report outlining recommendations
