Main Project features
To provide support to Eskom in conducting technical studies, developing guidelines and a “blueprint” for the development of minigrids and microgrids in South Africa. Undertaking of system studies to size and plan minigrids for five remote rural villages in different provinces of South Arica, namely Eastern Cape, Limpopo and Northern Cape.
Position held: Engineering Consultancy
Activities performed:
- Demand determination and system sizing
- Network Planning and Development.
- Load Flow Studies for network planning
- Short-Circuit Studies for breaker sizing
- Frequency Stability Studies for reserve detremination
- Under Frequency Load Shedding (UFLS) Scheme Development to protect the isalnd from collapsing.
- Capacity building to Eskom distribution network planning staff.
